Pain Management

What is PAIN?

PAIN is highly unpleasant individualized experience of one of the body’s defense mechanisms that may indicate an insult to any body part. Sometimes, the pain may persist even after the inciting trauma is over and thus becomes a source of chronic suffering! Thus, PAIN serves to alert or warn a person to potential or actual damage to the body.

Pain can have a negative impact on person’s quality of life and is one of the major factors for the escalating health care costs. Chronic or severe pain affects the mental makeup of a person causing depression, anxiety, lack of sleep, stress, fatigue, etc.

“Pain has a way of clipping our wings and keeping us from being able to fly … and if left unresolved for very long, you can almost forget that you were ever created to fly in the first place.”

WM. PAUL YOUNG, The Shack
